Grandma's China Reimagined

Some of our most cherished heirlooms spend years tucked away in cabinets, carefully packed in boxes, or displayed only on special occasions. A set of Grandma's China often carries memories of family gatherings, holiday meals, celebrations, and generations of love. While these treasured pieces hold deep sentimental value, they are not always practical to pass down, display, or divide among family members.

Our Memory China Service transforms treasured china into beautiful keepsakes that can be worn, displayed, and shared. Rather than allowing beloved pieces to gather dust or become lost to time, we create renewed heirlooms for the next generation. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to preserve the beauty and memories of the original china while creating something meaningful that can be enjoyed every day.

This flat quote covers complete jewellery construction of 1-2 China pieces, resulting in a maximum of 10 sets of jewellery. For larger jewellery orders, please consider the below and contact for a custom quote.

Share the Story Behind Your China

Every piece of china has a story, and we would be honored to help preserve it. When submitting your heirloom, we invite you to optionally share anything you know about its history; where it came from, who owned it, how it was used, and the memories connected to it. You are also welcome to send photographs of your grandmother, ancestor, or family using the china, along with any stories, recipes, traditions, or memories associated with it that make the collection meaningful. While we transform the china into renewed heirlooms for the next generation, we also want to help preserve the story behind it. These personal details allow us to better appreciate the legacy entrusted to us and ensure that the memories connected to your heirloom are not lost to time.

Our Craftsmanship Process

Each Memory China keepsake is handcrafted using a technique inspired by traditional stained-glass artistry. To personalize the finished look, we offer several patina options for the finished china's metal edging. Choose from a classic Silver Patina for a bright look or a rich Blackened Patina that beautifully highlights intricate china patterns. We also offer our signature Utah Copper Look, a distinctive finish inspired by Utah's historic copper heritage and the warm tones found throughout the state's mountains, canyons, and mining traditions.

To help keep these renewed heirlooms accessible for families, we currently use handcrafted patina finishes rather than solid gold, sterling silver, or other precious metals, allowing us to create beautiful keepsakes while maintaining affordable pricing.

Because every keepsake is made by hand, slight variations in finish and appearance are part of what makes each piece truly one of a kind. Every effort will be made to preserve and highlight the most recognizable and cherished portions of your china; however, due to the nature of cutting and shaping porcelain, exact design placement cannot be guaranteed.

Before We Begin

Every heirloom tells a different story. Before work begins, we will review your china, discuss your vision, and confirm recommendations, timeline, and pricing. No work will be performed without your approval.

Because each piece is handcrafted from existing china, variations in pattern placement, coloration, and design are natural and help make every keepsake unique. We will make every effort to showcase the most beautiful and meaningful portions of your china whenever possible.

Remaining China Policy

Because every heirloom is unique and often carries significant sentimental value, we want to ensure that your wishes are respected throughout the Memory China creation process.

To create your keepsake, portions of your china will be carefully cut and shaped. Depending on the size of your order and the design selected, there may be unused pieces, partial sections, or remaining fragments after your keepsakes have been completed.

As part of your order, we ask that you choose one of the following options regarding any remaining china:

- Return All Remaining China All unused pieces, partial sections, and remaining fragments will be returned with your completed keepsake(s).

- Additional Keepsakes Upon Approval If sufficient china remains, Generations Restored may contact you with recommendations for additional keepsakes that could be created with a small fee from the remaining material. No additional work will be performed without your approval and payment.

- Dispose of Remaining Fragments Any unused china, partial sections, or fragments remaining after your keepsake(s) have been completed may be responsibly discarded.

- Pass the Legacy Forward

Some families may choose to donate any unused portions of their china after their keepsakes have been completed. If selected, any remaining pieces that are not returned to you may be carefully saved and repurposed in future Memory China creations at no additional cost to future families.

Vintage china patterns are often no longer produced, and even small pieces can provide beautiful materials for memorial jewelry, ornaments, and other meaningful keepsakes. By choosing to donate your remaining china, you are helping preserve the beauty and craftsmanship of these heirlooms while allowing them to continue bringing joy and comfort to others.

Donated materials may be incorporated into future keepsakes, artistic creations, sample displays, or other projects at no additional cost to future families. Ownership of donated materials is voluntarily transferred to Generations Restored and cannot be reclaimed once donated.
